My Journey to Connection

Hi, I’m Lauren, the founder of Myo Body Connection.

I’m a Certified Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist, Licensed Massage Therapist with 19 years of clinical experience, Holistic Nutritionist, Corrective Exercise Specialist, and trained Cupping Therapist specializing in whole body healing, nervous system regulation, airway health, and oral function.

My journey into this work began long before I ever stepped into a treatment room.

I was born with complex heart conditions and underwent multiple heart surgeries as a baby. Throughout my life, many of my chronic symptoms and pain patterns were often blamed solely on my heart condition and the trauma my body experienced early on. For years, I was dismissed and told that what I was experiencing was simply something I would have to live with.

But deep down, I knew there was something more going on.

As I got older, I struggled with chronic pain, fatigue, nervous system dysregulation, postural imbalances, hormone issues, gut dysfunction, Lyme disease, autoimmune symptoms, insulin resistance, and difficulty breathing properly. My body had spent a lifetime compensating.

I couldn’t breathe correctly.
My posture compensated.
My nervous system stayed stuck in survival mode.
My gut health needed deeper support.

Everything in my body was connected, I just didn’t fully understand how yet.

Massage and bodywork helped keep me functioning for many years, just like I helped my own clients continue functioning through chronic pain and stress. But I always felt there was something deeper still tying my body down, and literally there was.

That search for answers became the driving force behind my career.

Over the last 19 years, I immersed myself in understanding the body through medical massage, orthopedic massage, cupping therapy, corrective exercise, holistic nutrition, gut and hormone health, nervous system regulation, and chronic pain patterns.
Working hands on with clients every day, I became deeply fascinated by how interconnected the body truly is.

No matter how much bodywork I performed, I kept seeing the same patterns repeatedly,  forward head posture, chronic neck and jaw tension, breathing dysfunction, sleep issues, nervous system dysregulation, and recurring pain that never fully resolved.

Everything changed when I became a mother.

When my son was 9 months old, we discovered he had a tongue tie. As I began researching the symptoms and long term effects oral dysfunction could have on the body if left untreated, something clicked for me for the first time in my life.

I realized I was tongue tied too.

Suddenly, everything I had struggled with for years started making sense.

The chronic tension.
The breathing dysfunction.
The postural compensations.
The nervous system dysulation.
The jaw tension.
The fatigue.
The gut and hormone issues.
The feeling that my body was constantly compensating and stuck in survival mode.

For the first time, I understood that many of the symptoms I had spent my entire life trying to heal weren’t random or disconnected, they were connected to function.

That journey ultimately led me to myofunctional therapy.

After going through myofunctional therapy myself and eventually having a tongue tie release, my entire perspective on healing changed.

For the first time, I could truly breathe properly. My posture improved. My body began releasing compensation patterns I had held for decades. My nervous system started regulating. Chronic tension decreased. My sleep improved, my energy changed, and I finally felt like my body could heal instead of constantly fighting to survive. It felt like I had been given another chance at life.

I realized that the jaw, tongue, airway, and breathing patterns are often some of the most overlooked foundations of health. The primary functions we do every single day breathing, eating, swallowing, speaking, and sleeping all influence nearly every system in the body. When oral function is dysfunctional, compensation patterns can affect posture, the nervous system, muscle tension, digestion, sleep quality, hormone health,
and overall healing.

That experience became the missing piece that connected everything I had spent the last 19 years studying and treating in both myself and my clients.

That realization became the foundation of Myo Body Connection.

Today, I combine my background in Orofacial myofunctional therapy, medical and orthopedic massage, cupping therapy, craniosacral sacral informed bodywork, corrective exercise, nervous system regulation, and holistic nutrition into a whole-body approach focused on identifying and addressing root causes and not just the symptoms.

My mission is to help people reconnect with their body, understand the deeper “why” behind their symptoms, and finally feel supported through a whole body approach
to healing. I believe the body was designed to heal when we restore proper function, remove barriers, and create safety within the nervous system.

Healing is not about chasing symptoms.
It’s about restoring connection.

Welcome to Myo Body Connection
